Q:  How do I add a lesson to my library?
A:  Choose a lesson that is of interest to you and if the lesson is free it will be directly added to your personal library. If it is a fee-based lesson you will be taken to a shopping cart where you can purchase the lesson. Once purchased, the lesson will be added to your library. From there you can watch it as many times as you like.

Q:  Are you offering testing and certification for level/belt rankings for any kung fu styles?
A:  Although not present in the current version of the site, we plan to offer testing and certification for each course level in the very near future. This will be implemented as a video upload feature that allows students to upload videos that demonstrate, in conjunction with a training partner, their knowledge of the techniques taught at a particular course level. For the time being, we will be allowing all MSU students access up to level 2 content of every track, but once the testing and certification feature is implemented, we'll start requiring testing and uploading videos of performance to allow access to content above level 1. This has always been a part of our structure but in lauching we wanted to get started as soon as possible and get at least the initial level of content up and available for people to begin watching and learning from. We will update registered students and newsletter subscribers via our newsletter about update on this moving forward.

Can you tell me if the DVD set contains just the forms or does it contain all of the same curriculum as the Online University offers?
A:  The Complete Series DVD set (which is all of the individual DVDs we offer for Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu) does not include the majority of the content available on MartialSkill University. We have no plans to put the complete set of university curriculum on DVD.

Q:  Do the DVDs contain material that is not included in the online lessons at Martial Skill University?
A:  The DVDs and the online lessons each offer different features and content. The DVDs include such things as DVD extras and motions done at 1/4 and 1/2 speed and also include some forms that aren't in MSU. The online lessons include slides of key points, printouts and other interactive features. The forms not in MSU at this time are Cha Chuey, Lan Jie, and Praying Mantis Chain Styles Vol. 1 (though a few of the chain styles are in the 2 existing lesson levels).

Q:  What are my system requirements to view a course?
A:  The interactive lesson system should run well on any multimedia capable PC, Mac or Linux system that has a broadband connection. Some of the specific requirements include Flash Player version 8 or above, and a current browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome.

Q:  When I post a question to the course forum, who answers it?
A:  Each course forum is moderated by a subject matter expert. In some cases that will be the course host but in other cases it will be an expert in that topic. When you post a question, in most cases you should receive a qualified response within a couple of days although not all questions will be answered.
